Crimea is ready to accept the monument to Aivazovsky dismantled in Karabakh, the head of Crimea said

Crimea is ready to accept the monument to the famous marine artist Ovanes Aivazovsky dismantled in Karabakh. This was stated by the head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, TASS reports.

“Ivan Konstantinovich is our compatriot, he did a lot for Crimea. We are ready to accept the destroyed monument, restore it and install it in a worthy place. Do not destroy them, better give them to us,” Aksyonov wrote.

According to him, “a war with monuments does not paint anyone in a good light, no matter what motives justify such actions.”

“And it does not lead to anything good. The example of Ukraine is before everyone’s eyes. “This is a dangerous symptom, first of all, for the destroyers themselves,” Aksyonov added.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin stated that the demolition of the monument to marine artist Hovhannes Aivazovsky in Stepanakert is an example of vandalism encouraged and incited at the state level by the authorities of Azerbaijan.
