The withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the region has given additional impetus to the peace process.
This was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a special meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Washington.
“After the “anti-terrorist” (quote: Tertam) measures adopted in 2023, the Karabakh issue, which Armenia had long tried to advance in the negotiation process, was completely removed from the negotiating table.
And the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the region, amid new realities a year and a half before the end of their mandate, has given additional impetus to the peace process.”
