The anti-state operation “Reject Serzh” actually meant “Reject Artsakh”. Member of the Supreme Body of the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov wrote about this on his Facebook page.
In a few days, on September 2, Artsakh will be declared independent.
It is an obvious fact that 1988-2018 were the years of Victory for the Armenian people.
And this victorious golden age was due, first of all, to the Artsakh movement, as a result of which the Armenian people gained Independent Armenia and Free Artsakh.
But both in the region and in the globalized world there were forces that were clearly not satisfied with this reality.
Therefore, cosmopolitan and anti-state elements began to be “cultivated” within Armenia, which were supposed to put forward the idea of “giving up Artsakh so that we could live well,” and also to drive a wedge between the various layers of Armenians.
Harsh counter-propaganda began against the Artsakh movement and the leaders of Artsakh, as well as the national figures and forces that defeated Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani-Turkish expression “Karabakh clan” was introduced into circulation.
Anti-national and anti-state forces began to conduct dirty propaganda against national forces, and in particular against the Republican Party and its leader Serzh Sargsyan.
Why? Because Serzh Sargsyan had clear red lines, and these red lines were the theses: “Artsakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan” and “There is no alternative to the realization of Artsakh’s right to self-determination.”
Anti-state forces had made several unsuccessful coup attempts before 2018, but in 2018, also using the services of a number of Armenian “Trojan horses”, they carried out an anti-state operation “Reject Serzh”, which actually meant “Reject Artsakh”.
The Republican Party of Armenia and a number of other political and political figures tried to convince society not to fall into this anti-Armenian trap.
However, the forces and resources were unequal.
Even after the 2018 coup, the Republican Party under the leadership of Serzh Sargsyan continued to declare the anti-state nature of Nikolism.
Serzh Sargsyan and the Republican Party of Armenia not only in Yerevan, but also in Zagreb, Moscow, Brussels and even on Sakhalin advocated a fair and pro-Armenian settlement of the Artsakh issue based on the well-known three principles developed by the OSCE Minsk Group.
But the authors and executors of the Artsakh transfer plan were adamant.
First, they actually rejected Serzh Sargsyan’s negotiating legacy and started negotiations “from scratch”, then they shouted: “Artsakh is Armenia, and that’s it”, and, having started a war, in the fall of 2020 they transferred most of Artsakh.
And starting in April 2022, having moved from the Russian negotiating platform to the Western platform of Charles Michel, on October 6, 2022, in Prague, they recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.
This was the “green light” for Azerbaijan to carry out an operation to completely conquer Artsakh and depopulate Armenians in 2023.
In just a few years, we lost Artsakh.
Why? Because we also did not appreciate our previous victories and successes.
After April 2016, we were proud of our army and victories.
After all, it was Aliyev who said on October 7: in 2016, he stated that pressure would be exerted on him to recognize the independence of Artsakh.
And this pressure did not arise just like that.
It was the result of the effective and state-oriented foreign and defense policy of President Serzh Sargsyan, which in fact did not benefit either Turkey or the pro-Turkish forces.
There is one goal: to completely eliminate the subjectivity of Armenia,” Sharmazanov wrote.
