Artificial grounds are being prepared to detain Vardan Ghukasyan’s son. The defense team for Spartak Ghukasyan, the son of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, issued a statement on the matter.
“We hereby inform you that Spartak Ghukasyan has never violated the terms of the house arrest measure imposed on him.”
Furthermore, the RA Probation Service has recorded malfunctions in the electronic devices used to monitor Spartak Ghukasyan’s behavior; in particular, there has been a loss of service at his place of residence in some areas.
This circumstance will likely be used to justify the violation of the preventive measure.
“Unacceptable actions, such as police harassment of Spartak Ghukasyan’s family early in the morning on supposedly trumped-up grounds and attempts to break into his home, were also used as a means of pressure,” the statement reads.
