The Republic of Armenia welcomes the announcement by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to lift restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia. This was stated in a statement by Nazeli Baghdasaryan, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. “This step is of great importance for opening regional communications, strengthening mutual trust, and institutionalizing the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in accordance with the agreements reached in Washington,” the press secretary wrote. We previously reported that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, at a joint press conference with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced that Azerbaijan had lifted all restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia.
