Israel struck a major gas processing complex in southern Iran and some oil infrastructure facilities, Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan wrote.
“According to the Iranian side, there were no casualties, but a fire broke out and significant damage was caused. Iran has already announced it will retaliate, including against oil and gas infrastructure in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.
The war is becoming even more widespread and dangerous, which will create new challenges, especially in the area of global energy security and, perhaps, even environmental protection in the region,” he wrote.
