The third president, Serzh Sargsyan’s case has seen significant developments, as reported by Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the «Honorary» faction in the National Assembly. He stated on his Facebook page that the powers of judge Vahe Misakyan, who issued an acquitting verdict, were terminated based on «serious disciplinary violations.»
Abrahamyan highlighted that there was a discrediting campaign against Misakyan solely because he dared to pursue a legal rather than a political resolution to the case. He emphasized that regardless of the political orders received—whether by police, investigators, prosecutors, or judges—each individual must understand that their decisions will have severe consequences not only for the political targets but also for themselves.
He noted that the current authorities have never forgiven and will not forgive those who prioritize law and morality. This leads the political leadership to surround itself with individuals who have a slave mentality, who are sycophantic, lack opinions, and adhere to a low moral value system.
Abrahamyan pointed out that those who demonstrate even a minimal commitment to principles or professional duty are quickly dismissed. He also reminded that the Supreme Judicial Council previously suspended the powers of judge Vahe Misakyan, who acquitted Serzh Sargsyan.
