On October 1, Iran’s missile attack on Israel was a defense against Israeli assaults on Iranian interests. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at a press conference in Beirut.
“If Israel attacks Iran again, it will receive a much stronger response,” the foreign minister warned.
Araghchi mentioned that on October 4, he held talks with Lebanese leaders in Beirut to discuss the possibility of reaching a ceasefire. “Iran stands firmly by its Lebanese friends and supports the forces of resistance,” he said. “We are confident that Lebanon will prevail.” Regarding the establishment of a ceasefire along the Lebanon-Israel border, he indicated that Iran would support it if Hezbollah took such a stance.
