Azerbaijan will accede to the Council of Europe Convention against Illicit Trafficking in Human Organs, but with reservations “because of Armenia.” According to APA, this was announced today at a videoconference of the Milli Majlis Committee on Legal Policy and State Building during a discussion of the draft law “On Approval of the Council of Europe Convention against Illicit Trafficking in Human Organs.”
It was noted that this is due to the fact that until relations with Armenia are normalized, the provisions of the Convention will not apply to that country.
Azerbaijani media have not reported Armenia’s involvement in this or the essence of the statement.
