Oil prices continue to decline and ended April with the biggest drop in more than three years amid concerns that the trade war started by Washington will weaken the global economy and demand for energy resources.
The cost of June Brent futures on the London ICE Futures exchange is $63.50 per barrel, which is $0.75 (1.17%) lower than at the close of the previous trades. On Tuesday, these contracts fell by $1.61 (2.4%), to $64.25 per barrel.
The exchange circulation period of June Brent futures expires on Wednesday. The more actively traded July contracts fell in price by $0.78 (1.23%), to $62.5 per barrel.
WTI oil futures for June on the electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) fell by $0.77 (1.27%) to $59.65 per barrel. Following the results of the previous session, the cost of these contracts fell by $1.63 (2.6%) to $60.42 per barrel.
