CNN: Trump to Toughen Rhetoric Against Netanyahu After Watching Gaza Footage

US President Donald Trump has decided to change his approach to interacting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after seeing footage of starving children in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by two White House officials in a commentary to the CNN channel.

According to the channel, Trump watched the videos of starving children before leaving for Scotland. “He told his aides that he wanted to discuss these terrible images with Netanyahu and asked how the United States could help,” the channel’s interlocutors said. According to one of the officials, the footage made Trump “very uncomfortable.”

As noted by CNN, on Monday, Trump personally spoke with Netanyahu about the problem of hunger in the Gaza Strip and told the Israeli prime minister that “we need to act differently.”

Earlier, the UN World Food Program reported that key indicators of food consumption in the Gaza Strip have reached their worst levels since the conflict escalated in October 2023. According to the international monitoring initiative Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), 39% of the enclave’s residents have been forced to go hungry for several days in a row, and over 500,000 people – almost a quarter of Gaza’s population – live in conditions close to famine.
