Former FBI Director May Face Charges

Federal prosecutors are close to indicting former FBI Director and longtime Trump foe James Comey, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CBS News.

Multiple media outlets reported that prosecutors are considering charging him with lying to Congress in 2020. The testimony involved sources involved in the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The five-year statute of limitations on this case expires on Tuesday.

Earlier, Trump directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Comey and others, calling them “guilty as a matter of fact.”
