His Holiness received Argentine lawyers and journalists. He touched upon the issue of Armenian prisoners of war.

On April 28, His Holiness Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II received a group of lawyers and journalists from Argentina in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, accompanied by Argentine Armenian Juan Pablo Gechidjian. This was reported by the information system of the Mother See.

The latter informed His Holiness that the group’s visit to Armenia is aimed at a deeper acquaintance with the Armenian people, their history, culture and spiritual heritage, as well as familiarization with the situation in the country.

Blessing those present, the Catholicos of All Armenians noted with satisfaction the friendly relations between the two peoples and the existing cooperation between the countries. His Holiness particularly focused on the vibrant national and spiritual life and organization of the Armenian community in Argentina, expressing gratitude to the country’s authorities for their caring attitude towards the Armenian community.

In his speech, His Holiness touched upon the relations of the Armenian Church with sister Churches and inter-church organizations, as well as the catastrophic consequences of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan and the complex challenges that Armenia faces.

The Armenian Patriarch noted the importance of the efforts of friendly countries and the international community to promote peace and stability in the region, as well as the release of prisoners held in Baku prisons.
