Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told Sky News there was still a chance for peace talks with the US.
The Iranian official said that despite attacks on his country by the US and Israel, efforts were underway to resume the search for a diplomatic solution.
“Diplomacy should not be abused or used as a tool of deception or just for some kind of psychological warfare against opponents,” Baghaei said.
He said Iran felt diplomacy had been betrayed.
“The talks between the US and Iran were on the verge of resuming when Israel attacked the country. And the US violated international law by supporting this Zionist aggression,” he said.
