The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced it shot down the plane used by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at Mehrabad Airport.
“The downing of the plane deals a blow to the Iranian leadership’s ability to coordinate with allied countries, build up its military power, and restore the terrorist regime. Iran is thus deprived of yet another strategic asset,” the statement read.
In recent days, the Israeli military reported at least four strikes on Mehrabad Airport. At the time, the targets were identified as radar stations, air defense systems, and military and transport aircraft.
