Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has banned cabinet members from commenting on the Gaza peace agreement in the media until all hostages held by militants are released, Israeli television channel Channel 14 reported.
He stated that this order will remain in effect until the plan for the return of all hostages, both living and dead, is implemented. This plan is the first stage of a peace settlement in the Palestinian enclave.
On the night of October 10, the Israeli government approved “an agreement to release all hostages, both living and dead,” as previously reported by the Prime Minister’s Office. On October 9, US President Donald Trump announced that representatives of Israel and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas had reached an agreement on the first stage of the peace plan following talks in Egypt. He stated that this stage entails the release of all hostages “in the near future” and the withdrawal of Israeli troops to an agreed-upon line inside Gaza.
