In recent days, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements have once again revealed not only the distorted but also the pathological nature of his political thinking. Commenting on the assessment of Armenia’s third president, Serzh Sargsyan, regarding what happened in Washington, Pashinyan declared that Sargsyan’s entire activity had supposedly been directed against Armenia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, jurisdiction, and borders.
The reality, however, is exactly the opposite. In fact, Pashinyan has once again confused himself with Sargsyan. All the disasters, losses, and historical blows that Armenia has suffered over the past seven years are exclusively linked to Pashinyan’s name. And in order to hide his own responsibility, he tries to attribute all of this to the very man whose statesmanlike biography and pro-national approaches can be considered exemplary for any leader.
Under Serzh Sargsyan, despite numerous challenges, our country managed to preserve and strengthen its positions in foreign policy, security, and diplomacy. He contributed to major achievements that elevated Armenia’s standing in the international arena.
Nikol Pashinyan, on the other hand, became the complete opposite of all this. During his rule, Armenia turned into a chain of losses and disasters:
• Artsakh was handed over to the Turks, leaving our compatriots defenseless and victims of ethnic cleansing.
• Syunik has fallen under foreign influence, and its territorial security is under constant threat.
• Armenia has been subjected to external dictates and a defeatist policy.
• Pashinyan is ready to adopt a new Constitution under the enemy’s terms.
And after all this, he dares to speak of sovereignty and territorial integrity. His entire strategy is built on one cunning trick — constantly vilifying his predecessors, portraying them as the “authors of defeat and betrayal” in the eyes of the people, and thus covering up his own failures.
Pashinyan is mistaken if he thinks that this time the people will once again believe his next deception. The people have seen and felt the bitter consequences of his rule.
A major surprise awaits Nikol Pashinyan: he cannot even imagine that the very same people he has humiliated and deceived for years will soon deliver their most damning and unavoidable judgment.
