Exactly 26 years ago, on October 27, 1999, a crime occurred in the National Assembly.
An armed group led by Nairi Hunanyan stormed the parliament chamber and killed eight government officials: Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vazgen Sargsyan, NA Speaker Karen Demirchyan, Vice Speakers Yuri Bakhshyan and Ruben Miroyan, Minister of Operational Affairs Leonard Petrosyan, and MPs Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan, and Mikael Kotanyan.
Eight people were injured.
