Russia is still waiting for the Ukrainian side to set a date for a new round of direct talks between the two countries, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on Tuesday.
“As the president said last week, we are waiting for the Ukrainian side to propose possible dates. As soon as the dates are agreed upon, and we hope that this will be done, we will immediately announce it,” Peskov said.
After two rounds of talks in Istanbul on May 16 and June 2, Russia and Ukraine agreed to exchange prisoners on a “1,000 for 1,000” basis, as well as to return seriously ill and young (under 25) prisoners on an “all for all” basis — at least 1,000 people from each side.
