Samvel Babayan, the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, begins political cooperation with the former director of the National Security Service of Armenia, the leader of the “Rodina” party, Artur Vanetsyan. Babayan stated this in an interview with CivilNet, not excluding that Vanetsyan may become a candidate for the post of prime minister.
Babayan noted that they will jointly support the candidate from the “Rodina” party, the poet-publicist Hachik Manukyan, in the upcoming elections to the local self-government bodies of Echmiadzin. According to him, the results of these elections will be decisive in determining the format of their participation in the 2026 parliamentary elections.
“The only young man I see today on the political field is Artur Vanetsyan, and I am ready to help him become a political figure,” said Babayan.
