The anti-church policy pursued by the authorities is a matter of grave concern, stated His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, in his address at the Church of the Holy Translators in Marseille.
“Our Homeland and the Armenian Church are experiencing difficulties and serious trials. The hearts of the children of our nation are still bleeding, and the issues of protecting the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh, the release of Armenians held captive in Azerbaijan, and ending the ongoing cultural genocide remain unresolved,” His Holiness said.
His Holiness emphasized that it is the Church that strengthens us all in the struggle against difficulties and challenges.
“The Church is not just a stone structure, but a collective body of our faithful people.” “The Church is you, dear faithful children, with your pious lives and God-pleasing deeds,” His Holiness noted.
The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed hope that, thanks to the unity and faith of the people, this trial will be overcome and malicious attacks will be neutralized.
