The authorities did not forgive the judge who issued an acquitting verdict in the case of third president Serzh Sargsyan. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the “Honorary” faction in the National Assembly, on his Facebook page.
He noted that the judge’s powers were terminated based on “serious disciplinary violations.” Abrahamyan emphasized that there was a discrediting campaign against Judge Vahe Misakyan solely because he dared to pursue a legal, rather than a political, resolution to the case.
He stressed that regardless of whom the political order is directed at—whether police, investigators, prosecutors, or judges—everyone must understand that their decisions will have serious consequences not only for the political target but also for themselves.
According to Abrahamyan, the current authorities have never forgiven and will not forgive those who prioritize law and morality. He pointed out that this is why the political leadership tries to surround itself with individuals who have a slave mentality, who are sycophantic, lack opinions, and adhere to a low moral value system.
He concluded that those who demonstrate even a minimal commitment to principles or professional duty are quickly dismissed. Abrahamyan also reminded that the Supreme Judicial Council previously suspended the powers of Judge Vahe Misakyan, who acquitted Serzh Sargsyan.
