The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, speaking about the current situation on the border and the shelling from Azerbaijan in this context, said: “Yes, there were shots, they are shooting, but they are not aimed and not targeted,” and then added that in cases where they are aimed, an official statement is made.
Two contradictory formulations of the same idea. If the Ministry of Defense provides information with a certain frequency that people’s houses or their livestock are being shelled, then it turns out that Azerbaijan has a specific goal and is conducting aimed fire. I do not understand the point of making confusing, frightening, contradictory sentences.
The Chief of the General Staff believes that the purpose of the shootings is to exert psychological pressure on our soldiers and the border population, but adds: “But we do not pay attention to this.” In other words, your enemy is carrying out a special act of terrorism against society, which is officially confirmed, but the Chief of the General Staff proudly adds that the government does not pay attention to it.
It turns out that they confirm Azerbaijan’s provocations against Armenia and their impact on society, but also admit that the government is demonstrating criminal inaction.
Addressing the acting governor, the Chief of the General Staff stated that “the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has every reason to assert that there will be no war, there will be peace.”
I hope that the Chief of the General Staff makes such a statement simply in order not to displease the Commander-in-Chief and not to resign from his post, but is guided in his thoughts and in his daily work by the principle that he can start a war even tomorrow.
