Tigran Ulubabyan will remain in custody. The Lori Regional Court of General Jurisdiction granted the investigator’s motion to extend Ulubabyan’s detention. This was reported to Pastinfo by lawyer Erik Beglaryan.
Recall that Tigran Ulubabyan from Artsakh had already reported violence against him by the police in March 2025. He claimed that he was subjected to violence, insults and disrespectful treatment, and was also forced to confess to his connection with the alleged criminals who robbed his relative’s house.
Only after the uproar was a criminal case opened on the use of torture, however, not only was a criminal case not opened against the police officers, but the body conducting the proceedings decided to terminate the case. Instead, Tigran Ulubabyan is in custody on charges of aiding and abetting robbery. Ulubabyan has denied the charges, arguing that there is no evidence to support his possible involvement in the incident.
