WSJ: Trump admits that negotiations to end the war in Ukraine are more difficult than he hoped

US President Donald Trump has admitted that negotiations to end the war in Ukraine are more difficult than he hoped, The Wall Street Journal reports.

According to US officials, Trump recently admitted to his aides that the negotiations were more difficult to complete than he had hoped. According to WSJ, the US president directed most of his anger at Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. Namely, for not readily agreeing to the latest US proposal.

The publication added that the growing understanding that the parties are still far apart on key issues contrasts with Trump’s statement that he could have made a deal in 24 hours.
