During his visit to the Middle East, French President Emmanuel Macron intends to reach an agreement on the supply of 200,000 tons of diesel fuel per month from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain. This was reported by AFP, referring to the Elysee Palace. According to the agency, Macron received an "obligation" guarantee from the UAE to supply 100,000 tons of fuel per month. He expects to coordinate the supply of another 100,000 tons in the second half ofthe day during a stay in Bahrain. Taking into account the additional volumes already promised by Saudi Arabia (95 thousand tons each in October and November), France has secured a commitment to supply 295 thousand tons of diesel fuel per month. That's around 10% of the country's total consumption, which Champs-Elysees claims should allow them to reduce prices at filling stations. Earlier, AFP, based on the analysis of European Union statistics, reported that on October 1, a new absolute record for the price of diesel fuel was recorded in the EU: the average cost per litre reached 2.24 euros.
