A representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said that after 40 days of war with the United States, Iran has received more modern weapons, according to Mehr. According to Brigadier General Hossein Mohebi, the Iranian armed forces are ready to give a tougher response in the event of a new attack. In an interview with an English-language newspaper in Tehran, Mohebi did not rule out the possibility of a resumption of military conflict. He called the unleashing of the new war a reckless move by Washington, but suggested that the administration of US President Donald Trump may need foreign policy success before the midterm elections. “Iran is ready to respond to each new aggression with greater force than before,” a spokesperson for the IRGC said, adding that the consequences of the possible attack would be “more painful” for the United States than the previous time. Mohebi also criticized the coverage of American hostilities in foreign conflicts. He stated that the leading US media hide the true state of things from the public and do not fully represent the actions of the US armed forces. In addition, a representative of the IRGC denied the claims of American officials about disagreements and inadequate interaction between Iranian officials. He called those statements “completely false,” noting that Washington was using themto justify its failures in the war against Iran.
