Iran is ready for negotiations with the USA, but does not intend to give up its sovereign rights under pressure. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during his speech at the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baghdad on Saturday, Mehr reported. According to Araghchi, Tehran remains ready for a diplomatic settlement, but mutual respect and reliable guarantees that military operations will not be repeated are necessary for the resumption of negotiations. He accused the USA and Israel of aggression against Iran and stated that previous negotiation attempts were repeatedly replaced by military operations. Araghchi also reported that Iran has conveyed a seven-point plan through Qatar, which envisages the possibility of restoring normal navigation in the Strait of Hormuz within seven days, if the necessary conditions are met. According to him, earlier Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding in Islamabad, with the mediation of Pakistan and the support of Qatar. Iran claims that it had begun to discuss practical measures to ensure the passage of ships with Oman, but subsequent US actions prevented the implementation of the agreements. Iran's Foreign Minister emphasized that Tehran supports safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is of key importance for global trade and energy supplies. At the same time, he attributed the responsibility for the disruption of maritime communication to the actions of the USA and Israel, as well as to the American blockade. Aragchi called on the OIC countries to stand up for the protection of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also announced the need to stop the violence in the Gaza Strip and supported the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's proposal to establish a day of remembrance for the victims of the genocide in Gaza. Speaking about Yemen, Araghchi spoke in favor of the political settlement of the conflict and warned about the danger of further military escalation. According to him, regional crises do not have a military solution, the security of the countries of the Middle East must be ensured by the joint efforts of the states of the region.
