Henrikh Danielyan writes on his Facebook page: This morning, just one day before the elections, representatives of the opposition "Our Community" alliance were detained in Martuni, including the candidate for the head of the community, Aram Karapet. They did. This is a classic political persecution, political repression and manifestation of intimidation towards the opposition. Being in the opposition is not a crime, and fair elections cannot be held in an atmosphere of political pressure and fear. This is the real picture of the "free, fair and equal" elections, the dangers of which we have repeatedly spoken about. Electoral fraud, political inequality and abuse of administrative resources have become the main tools of this government's political practices. The government, not having a strong support of the people's trust, tries to solve its political problems through power structures, using the state system to maintain its own power. Political competition should be decided by the vote of the people, not by the intervention of power structures.
