A 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in western Turkey and was felt in Istanbul, RIA Novosti reports.
The tremors were felt in western Istanbul at approximately 1:58 p.m., with the torches swaying slightly.
According to seismologists from the Disaster Management Authority, the epicenter of the 4.3 magnitude earthquake was in the Gemlik district of the neighboring province of Bursa, and the epicenter was at a depth of 13 kilometers.
In turn, the Kandili Observatory estimated the magnitude at 4.4, and the epicenter was at a depth of seven kilometers.
