In his sermon, the clergyman touched upon the effective power of divine light in the Armenian world, which emanated from the dark cave of Khor Virap, where Saint Gregory the Illuminator remained firm in his faith in the company of silence, cold and solitude and with the grace of the Holy Spirit restored our spiritual homeland with the help of bright faith.
Bishop Narek emphasized that Holy Etchmiadzin was founded on this spiritual homeland, as the embodiment of divine revelation, where God met the Armenian people.
The Holy Father also spoke about the current difficulties and the campaign against the Church, referring to the Armenians in prison.
“What we saw a few days ago can rightfully be called a day of national shame. Today, two of our spiritual brothers, Archbishops Michael and Bagrat, as well as the national benefactor Father Samvel Karapetyan, are in Virap. They are silent, but their prayer rises to heaven, and the sound of this prayer is heard from Holy Etchmiadzin.
..Holy Etchmiadzin is strong with its clergy, led by the Patriarch of All Armenians. It cannot be shaken, because its foundation is our Lord Jesus Christ,” Archbishop Narek said, calling on everyone to be steadfast in faith in these troubled days, to remain faithful children of Holy Etchmiadzin and to pray for the peace of the homeland, the freedom of the captives and the consolation of the suffering.
