In the current political discourse, Pashinyan’s latest domestic political horror, “in the style of Zelensky,” is often associated primarily with Erdogan.

Brussels officials not only don’t give a damn about the authoritarianism of Aliyev, Erdogan and a number of Central Asian leaders, moreover, they are not at all against Nikol openly joining their “club”
A lot has been said about the interconnection of the processes taking place around and inside Armenia, including from my side. In general, this is a political science pattern, but even it is distorted in the conditions of Armenian reality, since if in other countries foreign policy is a continuation of domestic policy, then in Armenia domestic policy follows from foreign policy, and the reason for this anomaly is that the ruling elite is a puppet and performs the functions of an occupation regime. In the context of the analysis of the recent visit of the European Commissioner Kaja Kallas to Yerevan, I mentioned one of the documents that was the subject of discussion between the parties – the new EU Black Sea strategy, and emphasized that, along with its anti-Russian nature, the willingness of the Armenian rulers to become part of this program testifies to both a deep and long-term geopolitical turn and the trampling of national interests in order to achieve this goal.
In the current political discourse, Pashinyan’s latest domestic political horror in the style of “a la Zelensky” is often associated mainly with Erdogan. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, and the real processes are much deeper.
Let us show, using the example of a detailed analysis of the above-mentioned document, how Pashinyan’s external games give him “Printed in Europe” indulgence for repressions within the country.
The EU Black Sea strategy was proposed on May 28 of this year and is evidence of the new policy of the European Union in our region. The South Caucasus, without having a separate, independent value in the unfolding geopolitical conflict, is nevertheless a region of vital importance in the global East-West corridor, since it represents the only geographical gap between Russia and Iran, through which these two Western adversaries can be bypassed.
The document under discussion does not hide not only its special geopolitical importance, but also the role of Armenia in this policy.
Thus, literally on the second page of the document, one can find this extremely curious passage: “In the Black Sea region, the EU pays special attention to peace and international law in order to unlock the potential for economic growth, sustainable investment and strengthening regional connectivity. In this regard, the overall resilience, security and recovery of Ukraine, as well as peace and stability in the South Caucasus, in particular Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including the smooth conclusion of a peace agreement, as well as the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, are of fundamental importance.”
Key findings:
1. The strategy did not even briefly mention other conflicts that are part of the geographic implementation of the strategy: the Cyprus issue, the Greek-Turkish tensions, Transnistria.
2. The EU emphasizes that in the geopolitical struggle, the South Caucasus is as important to it as Ukraine.
3. Even in this context, the two other conflicts in the region – Georgian-Ossetian and Georgian-Abkhaz – were left aside, and attention was focused exclusively on Armenia.
4. Armenia has been holding back this global program with its, diplomatically speaking, unsettled relations with two neighbors, but now the EU has a unique chance to achieve its long-term goal by sacrificing Armenian interests.
5. This paragraph from the official document is of decisive importance and is fatal for Armenia, since Pashinyan, contrary to Armenia’s interests, has given his full consent to serve the geopolitical goals of others.
The preservation and reproduction of Pashinyan’s regime in Armenia at any cost is vital for this EU geopolitical project. Having received Pashinyan’s full consent, the EU gave him carte blanche to decide the fate of those who oppose unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan and Turkey to the detriment of Armenian interests.
The attacks on the church, the illegal detention of Samvel Karapetyan, archbishops, a member of parliament, dozens of new political prisoners have no value or importance for the EU, which expressed this through the mouth of its leader, Macron, who is unpopular both in his country and in the EU itself.
The Brussels officials not only do not care about the authoritarianism of Aliyev, Erdogan and a number of Central Asian leaders, moreover, they are not at all against Nikol openly joining their “club”.
In the current situation, any force or figure that opposes Pashinyan will be declared “pro-Russian” and publicly sacrificed on the sacrificial altar of a new geopolitical adventure.
And imperfect in the past, Armenian democracy has died in God in recent years, and the upcoming parliamentary elections will turn into a farce, since Pashinyan will continue to clear the field of his opponents in the remaining time, will score with his hand right during the “game”, and the “judges” in the person of the international observer-parasite community, naturally, will condemn his opponents. No matter how much you would like to then, biting your elbows, publicly chant about the “non-traditional orientation” of the judges, they have no problem with such an image. And no matter how difficult it is for our colleagues and friends in the opposition to accept a version that goes beyond their own narrow ideas, no matter how it seems that “if this is not what they want, then it is against them”, no matter how much in their outbursts of almost criminal optimism they believe that “the salvation of Armenians is in the elections”, reality and forecasts say something completely different.
The process of mistrust + large-scale street pressure – this is the formula for the most likely scenario of Pashinyan being deprived of power. There is simply no other way out of the situation. And the sooner this understanding prevails over corporate and personal ambitions, the greater the chances of success.
After all, we need one victory, one for all. And do not be petty about the price.
