This move came after three European countries attempted to use the rapid reaction mechanism to reinstate previously lifted UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran, Mehr reports.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the Security Council that the initiatives by the United Kingdom, France, and Germany are invalid and without legal force. He called these steps irresponsible and contrary to the logic of the 2015 nuclear deal.
Earlier, after the Security Council vote, Araghchi emphasized that attempts to reinstate sanctions against Iran cannot be successful because they lack a legal basis.
