An unknown person attacked schoolchildren with a knife at a McDonald’s restaurant in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture. As reported by the Kyodo news agency, a 15-year-old girl died as a result, and another student is in the hospital.
According to the investigation, on the evening of December 15, the attacker entered the premises and, without saying anything, stabbed the children who were standing in line at the cash register several times. After that, he immediately fled the scene of the crime, while his face was not covered, the police are searching for the attacker. The schoolchild who survived the attack said that he had never seen the criminal before.
All extracurricular activities and events in schools and kindergartens in Kitakyushu have been canceled.
