A suicide bombing in the Afghan capital Kabul on Wednesday killed the movement’s refugee minister and two others, the Interior Ministry said, the Associated Press reported.
The blast occurred inside the ministry building, officials said, killing Refugee Minister Khalil Haqqani.
The officials did not provide further details.
Khalil Haqqani is the uncle of Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s acting interior minister.
Haqqani was the highest-profile victim of a bombing in Afghanistan since the Taliban returned to power three years ago. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
In March 2023, Taliban-appointed provincial governor Daud Muzmal and two others were blown up in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province.
