They found nothing prohibited by law or, so to speak, evidence. This was reported today, July 8, by David Gazinyan, Acting Director General of ENA, in a conversation with journalists, adding that the search was nearing completion.
“They found nothing, and they couldn’t find anything, because there is no such thing.
Narek Karapetyan’s office was also searched. The chairman of the board of directors, as such, does not carry out daily management, so the office should have been furnished more or less seriously. They found nothing,” he said.
When asked whether the ENA law enforcement officers would leave empty-handed, he replied: “At the moment, they were empty-handed. From what I saw, they did not take anything. As far as I know, the search was only carried out in Narek Karapetyan’s office. The investigative actions began after Narek Karapetyan arrived.”
David Kazinyan noted that he has been here since the morning and cannot say for sure whether there are ENA employees among those arrested. “As far as I know, we do not have any arrested ENA employees.”
According to him, Narek Karapetyan was in a very high mood. “If there is a problem of intimidation, then this is a waste of energy. He will still have his say.”
Kazinyan noted that now they will probably allow ENA employees to enter the building and start working.
It should be noted that law enforcement officers entered the ENA central office at around 08:00 in the early morning, where they are conducting searches. Police officers do not allow ENA employees into the headquarters building.
In addition, law enforcement officers also broke into the house of ENA Board Chairman Narek Karapetyan early in the morning, where they are also currently conducting a search. It should be noted that Narek Karapetyan is Samvel Karapetyan’s nephew. Later, masked men took Narek Karapetyan to the ENA central office by car.
In this regard, the Investigative Committee reported: “Urgent investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal cases initiated by the Main Department for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia and the Investigative Department of Yerevan.”
