U.S. President Donald Trump called for the participants of the unrest in Los Angeles who burned American flags to be sentenced to at least one year in prison. He also suggested that California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom responded so poorly to the riots that he could “theoretically” be charged with a crime, according to the New York Post.
Trump stated that all participants in the unrest who were caught burning the Stars and Stripes should “automatically” receive a one-year prison sentence.
