Azerbaijan did not attack the already defeated enemy and offered peace after the restoration of its sovereignty. Ilham Aliyev announced this during his speech at the 7th Summit of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. "We did not hit the already defeated enemy. We have not descended to the level of barbarians and child killers who caused so much suffering to our people," the head of state emphasized. According to Aliyev, Azerbaijan took a peace initiative and has been living in peace for more than a year. "We have offered peace and we have been living in peace for a little over a year now. That peace is still fragile, it must be protected and strengthened," the president said.
