Poland's special services have begun checking information on a possible assassination attempt against Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosyniak-Kamisz. The police, the Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the State Security Service (SOP) joined the investigation. Jacek Dobzynski, the press secretary of the minister coordinating special services, announced this on X social network. According to him, the coordinating minister of special services, Tomas Semoniak, and the minister of internal affairs and administration, Marcin Kerwinski, ordered to start the necessary operations after receiving information about a possible threat. On Sunday, at 11:00 Central European time, a meeting of ABW employees with representatives of the police and the State Security Service is planned at the headquarters of the Internal Security Agency. The purpose of the consultation is to coordinate the actions of the departments in connection with the received information. At the time of publication, officials did not disclose the details of the alleged assassination plot, did not say where the information came from, and did not name possible suspects. It is also not specified how specific the threat was to the Polish leaders. Donald Tusk heads the Polish government from December 2023. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish holds the position of the Minister of National Defense and is one of the deputy heads of the government.
