The administration of US President Donald Trump has instructed federal agencies to prepare plans to move offices from Washington to other parts of the country to reduce costs. This was reported on Wednesday by The Washington Post (WP).
According to the newspaper, the heads of all federal agencies received the corresponding notification from the White House Office of Management and Budget and the US Government Personnel Management Office. They are ordered to submit plans to move offices to other regions, where the costs of their work will be lower than in Washington, no later than April 14.
In addition, as noted by the Associated Press, the Trump administration instructed agencies to draw up plans to reduce staff by mid-April. On Wednesday, the US President also signed an executive order according to which federal agencies must create a payment control system in order to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
