Spain to declare three days of mourning over death of Pope Francis

The Spanish Council of Ministers has declared three days of mourning over the death of Pope Francis. This was announced to journalists by the head of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Kingdom’s Minister of Justice, Felix Bolaños.

“The Spanish government will declare three days of official mourning over the death of Pope Francis. “Francis’ pontificate has become a catalyst for renewal and reform in the Catholic Church that will leave its mark on history,” he said.

All leading Spanish politicians, including Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, have already expressed their condolences over the death of the Pope.

Earlier, the press service of the Holy See reported that the head of the Roman Catholic Church died at the age of 89.
