Turkish authorities have not received any information on the destruction of buildings in Istanbul as a result of the 6.2 magnitude earthquake. This was reported by the head of the Interior Ministry of the republic, Ali Yerlikaya.
“We have not yet received any notifications about the destruction of buildings in Istanbul. All our units are working on the ground,” the TRT Haber TV channel quotes the minister as saying.
The Turkish Ministry of Health also reported that “so far, no notifications have been received on the hotline or in hospitals about any negative consequences of the earthquake.”
