The Kremlin rejected Zelensky’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire

Russia will not agree to a long-term ceasefire in Ukraine proposed by Kiev until all the “nuances” are resolved, said Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, RIA Novosti reports.

“If we talk about such a long-term ceasefire, then the nuances that President [Vladimir] Putin spoke about in the Kremlin are important here. This is also important, but without an answer to these questions, it is difficult to agree to such a long-term truce,” the Kremlin spokesman said on Tuesday.

The day before, Moscow announced that “from midnight on May 7-8 to midnight on May 10-11” in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet-German War, the Russian army will cease fire unilaterally, but will reserve the right to an “adequate response” if the Armed Forces of Ukraine violate the ceasefire. Peskov described the statement as a “manifestation of goodwill” by Putin, who had previously said he was ready for peace with Ukraine without “preconditions.”
