Oppositionist: Armenian authorities are hushing up violations on the frontline by Azerbaijan

The attempt by the Armenian authorities to hide the facts of ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces is connected with the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2026. This was stated by opposition MP, member of the Republican Party of Armenia Tigran Abrahamyan during traditional briefings in the National Assembly of Armenia on May 16.

According to him, facts of ceasefire violations have been registered in different parts of the frontline for more than a month. Abrahamyan, citing residents of border areas, noted that initially the authorities put pressure on local government bodies, trying to hide this information.

“This is being done so that the soap bubble they are promoting called the “era of peace” does not burst early. That is, before the elections. This is not beneficial to them, since such information can damage their mythological vision,” the oppositionist said.
