For centuries, enemies have sought not only to conquer our lands but also to uproot our spiritual foundation — the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
Victory on the battlefield was never enough for them; they aimed to erase us as a nation by striking at our faith.
The Church has faced attacks by pagan kings, pressures of forced conversion by Byzantines, and brutal persecutions and destruction of sanctuaries by the Ottomans.
In 1915, thousands of churches and pilgrimage sites were destroyed, and countless clergymen were massacred.
During Soviet rule, the Church was driven out of public life, and its servants were exiled and oppressed.
In 2020, the Holy Savior Ghazanchetsots Cathedral of Shushi was bombed, proving that our faith remains a target even today.
But today, sadly, the threat comes not from outside — but from within.
Nikol Pashinyan and his government are taking consistent steps to discredit, weaken, and subjugate the Armenian Apostolic Church.
This is not merely a political tactic.
This is an attempt to destroy the last and steadfast pillar of Armenian identity.
The Church has always been the bearer of our national statehood, language, culture, and historical memory.
Yet today, the government seeks to replace all of this with hollow ideas and fleeting interests.
But we proclaim clearly:
The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church is unshakable.
Its foundation is not the will of authorities but the Word of Almighty God and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the Church of Gregory the Illuminator, the Church of Vardanants, Sardarapat, and the Artsakh liberation struggle.
It has withstood sultans, crusaders, and tyrants — and it will withstand traitorous authorities too.
We are the Church.
And as long as we exist — the Church lives.
