The intersection of Grigor Lusavorich and Argishti Streets. Left turn onto Grigor Lusavorich Street towards Argishti Street is prohibited, all types of vehicles are allowed to cross the intersection from the first, second, third and fourth traffic lanes only straight ahead, towards Grigor Lusavorich Street, Mashtots Avenue intersection.
Grigor Lusavorich Mashtots Avenue intersection, towards Akhtanak Bridge, all types of vehicles are allowed to cross the intersection from the first traffic lane to the right towards Mashtots Avenue, from the second and third lanes straight ahead towards Paronyan Street, and from the fourth and fifth lanes to the left towards Akhtanak Bridge.
From Beirut Street towards Grigor Lusavorich and Argishti Streets. All types of vehicles are allowed to cross the intersection from the first lane only to the right towards Grigor Lusavorich, and from the third lane only straight ahead towards Argishti Street. The second traffic lane is reserved for public transport.
Here, Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted that there should be signs at the entrance to Beirut Street so that the driver knows in advance that the first lane goes only to the right, so that at the last moment he does not have to cross the solid line and change lanes.
Vazgen Harutyunyan continued:
“From Italy Street to the intersection of Khorenatsi and Vazgen Sargsyan Streets, all types of vehicles are allowed to cross the intersection from the first lane to the right and straight ahead, from the second lane to the straight ahead, and from the third lane, which is reserved for public transport, only to the left. Stopping is prohibited on the right section of Italy Street.
Changes have been made to the organization of traffic on Khorenatsi Street.
A separate zone for transport has been introduced from the intersection of Mashtots Avenue to the intersection of Vazgen Sargsyan Street, in connection with which stopping of vehicles in the specified section is prohibited.
At the intersections of Mashtots Avenue-Khorenatsi Street and Mashtots Avenue-Amiryan Street, a traffic light with a BUS sign has been experimentally installed for public transport from Mashtots Avenue to the Haghtanak Bridge, which serves only transport.
Changes have also been made to the operating modes of the traffic lights.
In connection with the said changes, it is planned to make changes to the operating modes of the traffic lights at the said intersections in the near future, which will facilitate more unhindered movement of vehicles and ensure the continuity of traffic flows in the main directions.
After the completion of the said works, in the coming weeks, the department will begin to implement changes in the organization of traffic on Saryan Street, which provide for the organization of one-way traffic on Saryan Street from Mashtots Avenue to Baghramyan Avenue,” he emphasized.
In turn, Mayor Tigran Avinyan said: “In the small center, we will have certain changes that in some cases will create problems for cars, but basically we need to understand one important thing: the number of cars in the city of Yerevan is increasing. And if we do not start giving priority to public transport, then after a while we will simply have a situation close to collapse.”
