Will Nikol’s attack succeed, will the church collapse from it? Of course not. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan at his press conference.
But this does not mean that we should sit back, believe in the divine power of the Church and say one thing: it will not succeed. No, I do not think that the Church should be burdened too much, to defend it, this is wrong, this is completely wrong.
Of course, the word of His Holiness, his expectations from his flock are of primary importance. His Holiness’s expectations from his flock are of primary importance in these processes. But the faithful flock, following their pastor, should not place their hopes on where Nikol was, that the church existed, that the church was not destroyed during the Soviet era, this is true, but it suffered for 70 years. In other words, these examples that we give allow us to remember that the Soviet Union once fought against the Church for 70 years and destroyed it. Do we want to endure these years?
Private life is not limited to bed. “To claim that saints should not have a private life is complete nonsense from the point of view of democracy,” Ashotyan said.
