French President Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussing, in particular, the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement and the declaration signed in Washington.
“We also spoke about the hope that arose as a result of the meeting between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8 under the auspices of former US President Trump. It is important that developments continue to ensure the opening of all borders and the strengthening of regional cooperation,” Macron wrote.
Recall that the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration in Washington on August 8, with the mediation of the US President. It also concerns, among other things, the unblocking of communication channels.
