Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in an interview with Patrick Bet-David, a podcaster of Armenian-Assyrian descent, that he recognized the Armenian Genocide. This was reported by caucasus-chronicle.com.
The site notes that this statement was made in response to a question from the interviewer, who noted that he expects Israel to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide. Netanyahu responded that, in his opinion, “the Knesset has passed a resolution on this matter.”
However, the Knesset has not passed such a law.
When asked why no Israeli prime minister recognizes the genocide committed by the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century, Netanyahu replied: “I just recognized it. There you go.”
Patrick Bet-David posted the interview on his X page and wrote: “PM Netanyahu officially recognizes the genocide of Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks committed by the Ottoman Empire.”
