White House President Donald Trump has ordered the Pentagon to prepare to deter a rapprochement between Russia and China. This was stated by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in an interview with Fox News, TASS reports.
“Unfortunately, the weakness of the previous administration brought Russia and China closer together. It was a terrible event, which was due to the lack of American leadership and strength,” Hegseth said.
“That is why President Trump has instructed us to be ready to rebuild our military, restore combat morale and restore deterrence.”
The Pentagon chief stressed that the United States is not looking for conflict, but being prepared for it “ensures the security of Americans.”
